Financing Climate Adaptation and Nature-Based Infrastructure

This report explores ways to expand private sector engagement and investment in climate adaptation and nature-based infrastructure across Emerging and Developing Economies (EMDEs). As global temperatures rise, climate change is amplifying hydrological extremes, coastal storm activity, and heatwaves, with these pressures expected to grow in the coming decades. EMDEs are poised to experience the most severe consequences due to their structural vulnerability. At the same time, climate shifts, together with rapid economic and demographic growth, are placing unprecedented strain on natural systems—threatening biodiversity, ecosystems, and the essential services they support.
