NATURETHON | Seeds of Change: Citizens Growing Nature-Based Futures

On October 9, 2025, the second edition of the Naturethon initiative kicked off, building on the success of the first edition and the parallel Naturethon+ series. The event brought together citizens eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to local solutions.

The session began with an introduction to the initiative, outlining its structure and the goals participants would work toward. Individual participants were assigned to working groups, and existing groups were also presented, setting the stage for collaboration and idea-sharing.

Luciana Favaro, Climate Pact Ambassador and president of EuCliPa.IT, highlighted the importance of citizen engagement in climate adaptation measures within a European framework, sharing insights and best practices from initiatives such as the PAESC Summer School with high school teachers. Andrea Staccione, from CMCC, then offered a deep dive into Nature-based Solutions, explaining what they are, their benefits, and how they are applied in practice.

The day concluded with a collaborative work session, where participants actively engaged in developing their own ideas and solutions. The event highlighted the power of community engagement and the creativity that emerges when citizens come together around shared goals.
