This is the first global guide giving insurers a practical roadmap for aligning their business with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework’s goal of halting nature loss by 2030. It covers both non-life and life and health insurers, outlining priority actions across the insurance value chain from product design to client engagement.
The guide frames insurers in a dual role, as enablers of economic activities that can harm nature and as managers of emerging risks from nature loss. By connecting specific insurance business lines to nature-related dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities, it provides a structured pathway for the industry to move from awareness to meaningful action on biodiversity.
