WEBINAR | Insuring with Nature – Premium Rewards for Implemented Risk Reduction
The webinar, co-organised by RiskKAN and NATURANCE explored how nature protection and ecosystem restoration could generate measurable and financeable disaster risk reduction, and how verified risk reduction could translate into greeniums, such as reduced insurance premiums or other pricing advantages.
When well designed, these mechanisms could unlock additional funding for the implementation and maintenance of Nature-based Solutions. The NATURANCE CEN Workshop Agreement was presented as an open, community pre-standard proposing shared design principles and metrics for assessing risk reduction and co-benefits, with the aim of supporting comparable and credible practice across procurers, developers, insurers, investors, and communities.
