INSIDERS | Breakfast at Sustainability: Driving the Transition Toward a Nature-Positive Economy

On 3 February 2026, ICLEI Europe, as part of the NATURANCE initiative, organised the Breakfast at Sustainability event “From Concept to Measurement: Driving the Transition Toward a Nature-Positive Economy”, a small, invitation-only meeting bringing together European policymakers, financial institutions, businesses, researchers and sustainability initiatives.

The session provided a dedicated space to reflect on how progress toward a Nature-Positive Economy (NPE) can be measured, and on how science-based policies and legislation can support and accelerate this transition. Through interactive exchanges, participants discussed guiding principles and operational indicators for nature-positive transformation, and explored future-oriented policy and legislative pathways aligned with current social, ecological and economic conditions.

The event was co-organised with GoNaturePositive!, Land4Climate, NetworkNature and BIOFIN, and moderated by Marianne Zandersen (Aarhus University) and Daniel Rizzi (ICLEI Europe).
