SUMMARY:WEBINAR – Nature-based Solutions for integrated wildfire risk management
DESCRIPTION:The webinar, co-organised by Firelogue ( https://firelogue.eu/ ) and CTFC ( https://www.ctfc.cat/en/ ),  featured presentations from three speakers, providing a broad vision of the role of nature-based solutions in wildfire risk management. The aim was to gain insights into the conflicts, but most importantly, the synergies between the two concepts.\nAdrián Regos from the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia began by connecting and framing fire-smartness as a part of integrated wildfire risk management within nature-based solutions.\nFollowing him, Kilian Heil from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions, and Water Management addressed lessons learnt around the topic of nature-based solutions applied to other hazards, particularly through the example of protective forests in Austria.\nNext, Joanne Linnerooth-Bayer from IIASA discussed how insurance can enable nature-based solutions for wildfires, giving credit to NATURANCE project. The webinar concluded with a panel discussion among the speakers and the opportunity for questions from the public.\nThe webinar was moderated jointly by Juan Picos from the University of Vigo and Marta Serra, from the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia.
